You

I hate the way
you
capsize my life boat and make me
tread water
in the
cold
black
ocean of your grace

I hate the way
you
refuse to be held
by the confines of my poetry
and
overflow
into a thousand starless nights

I hate the way
you
always
calm my raging storms
before I have a chance
to
bury my tears in the rain

Erin,

I love this poem! It is so effective in capturing the indescribable vastness of He who is beyond human understanding. Your final lines are stunning...you've taken a very over-used metaphor (storms, tears, rain) and reinvented its meaning. I absolutely love the irony presented here. The format is effective also- broken lines reflecting the bluntness of the ideas presented. Very intriguing!
